SCALE RUBBER

The Ultimate in Modeling

The large propellers need a leggy landing gear (see planes below), and the slow flying speeds require a large  dove-like dihedral.

Once you allow mentally for this, you can really enjoy the sight of a scale rubber model climbing realistically, in wide slow circles. It will always distract you completely from the RC models on the field.

George Benson with his Volksplane. He was formerly a printer with an eye for color. His scale models typically have subtle but eye catching color harmonies.                  Jay Beasley photo.

Paul Stober's Pietenpol Air Camper. Will that prop really clear the ground? Many rubber modelers have a fascination with detail. Look at the detail on that old side valve engine.               Andrew Tickle photo. George's Helio Courier. This blue and white rubber model is far more appealing than the very functional full size plane, and more fun to watch.                                          Andrew Tickle photo.
